पश्चिम चंपारण भारत के बिहार राज्य में एक प्रशासनिक जिला है, जो बिरगंज के पश्चिम में
सिर्फ 60 किमी
की दूरी पर स्थित है। यह तिरहुत डिवीजन का एक हिस्सा है। जिला मुख्यालय बेतिया में
स्थित है। यह जिला नेपाल के साथ अपनी तरल सीमा के लिए जाना जाता है। पश्चिम चंपारण
के प्रमुख स्थानों में से एक कुमारबाग है और वृंदावन कुमारबाग का है जहां महात्मा
गांधी ने सत्याग्रह आन्दोलन शुरू किया था।
नरकटियागंज विधानसभा की कुछ जानकारी-
नरकटियागंज बिहार प्रान्त का एक शहर हैं, यह पश्चिम चंपारण जिले का नगर परिषद भी है। नरकटियागंज अनुमंडल में 4 प्रखंड क्रमशः नरकटियागंज, लौरिया , मैनाटांड़-सिकटा और गौनाहा शामिल है. वहीं नरकटियागंज में कुल 27 पंचायत है। नरकटियागंज विधानसभा सीट पर अबतक 3 बार चुनाव हो चुके हैं, 2010 और 2015 के अलावा 2014 में उपचुनाव भी हुए हैं. साल 2015 के चुनाव में नरकटियागंज विधानसभा सीट पर कांग्रेस को जीत मिली थी.
